On the night of May 16, 2017, at Tony’s Apartments in Carbon County, 39-year-old James Ezel was reportedly engaged in a domestic violence altercation with his girlfriend in her apartment. Her brother, 31-year-old Michael Salzetti, who lives in an adjacent apartment, overheard his sister’s pleadings for help and attempted to gain access to her apartment. James Ezel confronted Salzetti in the parking lot, where according to witnesses, Ezel produced a knife and stabbed Salzettimultiple times and fled the scene.
Carbon County Deputy Sheriff’s located and arrested Ezel the following morning without incident. Salzetti has undergone surgery for wounds to his abdomen, leg, torso and head and is currently under hospital care.
Ezel is being held in the Carbon County Jail on multiple felony counts.
