UPDATE:

Carbon County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

On July 1, around 9:45 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Consumers Road. Six juveniles occupied the vehicle. During the accident, two of the juveniles were ejected from the vehicle. Three Carbon County Ambulances were dispatched to the scene and all the juveniles were transported to the hospital. The extent of their injuries ranged from cuts and bruises to concussions and fractures. Only one occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on Consumers Road. when it drifted off the right side of the roadway. After maneuvering the vehicle back onto the roadway, the driver over-corrected and sent the vehicle back off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle collided with an embankment, rolled onto its top and then back onto its wheels.

The juvenile driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for a violation of their learner’s permit.

We are fortunate this accident didn’t result in any fatal injuries. Please remember to use your seatbelts when riding in a motor vehicle. We understand it is summertime and kids will be kids, but we urge you all to be safe and responsible.
